Dr. Jacqueline Roche, C. Psych. (she/her)

Dr. Roche is a clinical psychologist who has spent her entire career working with children, youth, families and parents. After completing a Bachelor of Science degree with double majors in Biology and Psychology and Honours in Psychology, a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology and a PhD in Clinical Psychology, she spent nearly 10 years working in one of the largest pediatric hospitals in the country. In her time at McMaster Children’s Hospital, Dr. Roche provided mental health services to children, youth and families with highly complex and acute mental health concerns and was an Associate Professor at McMaster University’s Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neuroscience. Prior to her return to Prince Edward Island, Dr. Roche served as the Director of Training for Hamilton Health Sciences’ Predoctoral Psychology Residency Program and provided training and consultation to various medical departments and teams within the organization.

Since her return to PEI, in her previous role as Health PEI’s Team Lead for the Children’s Team in the central region, Dr. Roche developed and supervised the implementation of a number of high quality, evidence-based services for children, youth and families. Dr. Roche is highly trained in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), and Emotion Focused Skills Training (EFST), along with many other evidence-based modalities. Dr. Roche is also highly skilled in psychological and psychodiagnostic assessment with experience and training in both neuropsychological and autism assessment. Dr. Roche decided to start IPC so that she could ensure that services being delivered to Island families were of high-quality, responsibly delivered and backed by evidence. Perhaps most importantly, she cares and you can expect a compassionate and warm approach to whatever it is you’re struggling with.
