Therapy
Whether you are struggling with a mental health concern, or just want some professional advice about a relationship challenge, work decision or another of life’s stumbling blocks, we can help. IPC offers structured, evidence-based treatments for all pediatric mental health concerns along with family therapy and parenting support.
Some of the treatments that we offer:
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (TF-CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Family Based Therapy (FBT), Emotion Focused Skills Training (EFST) or Emotion Focused Family Therapy (EFFT) , we’ve got you covered.
If you are interested in an unstructured approach to therapy, we can do that too.
Training
IPC offers training across a variety of domains. Training is provided for mental health clinicians looking to improve their skill in a certain area, organizations needing support around culture and productivity, families and caregivers looking to develop their emotion-focused skills and to the general public looking to increase knowledge on a particular topic. Assessments
From comprehensive to psychoeducational to diagnostic, IPC offers a full range of assessment services.
Psychodiagnostic Assessment
Assesses: Mental health (e.g. anxiety, ADHD, personality, etc.)
Goal: Used to diagnose a mental health or social-emotional concern or Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
Psychoeducational Assessment
Assesses: Cognitive + academic functioning
Goal: Focus is on academic and cognitive (intellectual) functioning. These types of assessments are best for straightforward learning concerns or where a learning or intellectual disorder is suspected.
Comprehensive Psychological Assessment
Assesses: Cognitive + academic + mental health
Goal: To understand the whole child/youth: mental health, social, emotional, academic, and cognitive functioning. These assessments are best when concerns exist in both learning and social-emotional domains.
Autism Assessment
Assesses: Autism only
Goal: To determine the presence of a possible Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2) is completed by two psychologists. May also require assessment of cognitive abilities.
Giftedness Assessment
Assesses: Giftedness only
Goal: To determine the presence of giftedness. Includes a brief report.
Consultation
Consultation services are available on the full range of pediatric mental health concerns from complicated diagnostic concerns to treatment planning to a lack of progress in treatment. Consultation is also available to individuals or teams who have experienced a crisis or when teams are not functioning optimally. IPC can help to get things back on track.
